Let’s start here!
Safety and General Usage Information
- This is a dry fire training product. Never shoot any projectiles at the targets to avoid damage to the targets. The LTS targets are for dry fire training only.
- Always ensure the replica is unloaded before using this product. To ensure the replica is unloaded, fire it in a safe direction and check that no BBs are coming out. Remember that a few BBs may be inside the replica from a previous use, even if a magazine is not inserted.
- With AEGs, dry firing can accelerate wear and tear on your replica’s gearbox. During normal AEG shooting, BBs restrict airflow and slow down the piston, preventing the piston from contacting the cylinder head and gearbox shell with full force. With dry fire training, which does not use BBs, this air restriction is removed, and therefore, the piston is free to slam against the cylinder head with full force. To reintroduce this padding and protect your AEG, the laser unit package comes with an optional muzzle air brake device. Attach the muzzle air break to your replica using the air break’s included 14mm CCW thread.
- Note: If you are using the optional air break, make sure to calibrate the laser with the air break equipped.
- Note: Make sure the removal of your red/orange tip is allowed in your region.
Laser Unit

Power
- To turn the laser on, click and hold the button on top of the laser for 3 seconds. The laser will illuminate for 2 seconds to indicate power is now on. You can confirm power by clicking the manual laser trigger.
- To turn the laser off, again click and hold the laser for 3 seconds. The laser will illuminate for 2 seconds to indicate power is now off.
- The laser unit will turn off automatically if not used for 1 hour.
Calibration
- The laser functions by detecting a combination of sound and vibration. If the laser is not reliably detecting shots from the equipped replica, follow these steps to calibrate the laser.
- Attach the laser to your replica.
- After the laser is turned on, click the button on top of the laser 3 times. The laser will begin to blink “slowly.”
- While the laser is blinking slowly, it will change to blinking “rapidly.” While it is blinking rapidly, shoot the replica 1 time. After the shot, the laser will change to blinking slowly again.
- Repeat step 3 until the laser stops blinking. This will usually take between 4-6 shots but may take more. When the blinking stops, the calibration is complete.
- To confirm the calibration is successful, shoot the replica as many times as desired and observe if the laser triggers with each shot.
Zeroing the laser
- Click and hold the manual laser trigger for 3 seconds. The laser will turn on and stay on.
- Use the windage and elevation adjustment knobs to move the laser to the desired alignment with your replica’s optic and/or iron sights.
- Click the manual laser trigger to turn off “constant on” mode.
Timer Target – Game Mode Instructions
Mode 1: IPSC Test
- Shoot the target to start the timer, and then shoot the target again to stop the timer. Your time will be displayed until you start a new test.
- Green lights: Target on standby. Shoot to start the test.
- Blue lights, timer counting: The test is ongoing. Shoot the target to stop the timer.
- Red lights, buzzer sound: Target successfully hit, and the time is recorded.
Mode 2: IPSC Test with Countdown Delay
- Shoot the target to start the 6-second countdown. Use this time to get into your ready position. 1 light will disappear every second until all lights are gone, and then a beep will signal the start of the test. Shoot the target to stop the timer. Your time will be displayed until you start a new test.
- Green lights: Target on standby. Shoot to start the countdown.
- Yellow lights: Countdown until the test starts.
- Blue lights, timer counting: The test is ongoing. Shoot the target to stop the timer.
- Red lights, buzzer sound: Target hit, and the time is recorded.
Arcade Targets – Game Mode Instructions
Mode 1: Target Practice
- Shoot the target to make all lights briefly turn red and hear a hit sound to confirm a hit. A light will be removed each time a hit is recorded. All lights will reset when the last light is removed.
- Blue lights: The game is active.
- Red lights, hit sound: Target is hit.
Mode 2: Whack-a-Mole
- Each target will become active at random intervals between 1-10 seconds. Once active, the target remains active for 3 seconds; Hit the target before it deactivates. Use multiple targets for added difficulty. The game will continue until the mode is changed (switch on the back of the target).
- Green lights: Target not active. Don’t shoot.
- Blue lights: Targets active. Shoot!
- Red lights, hit sound: Target is hit.
LTS Target & Laser Compatibility
Default detection mode (pre-set)
- Use this mode to get the best results with the Novritsch LTS Laser Unit.
- The targets are pre-set to detect the specific laser wavelength used by the LTS Laser Unit. This allows the targets to ignore lasers and lights from most other sources, ensuring there is no inference or false triggering from external sources. Most non-Novritsch dry-fire training lasers will not work with the pre-set mode.
Broadband detection mode
- Use the pinhole on the back of the LTS target to press the internal button. A red light will turn on from inside the pinhole to indicate broadband mode is active. Press the button again to return to the default detection mode.
- Broadband mode widens the range of wavelengths the targets can detect, which may enable you to use non-Novritsch dry-fire training lasers with the Novritsch LTS targets.
- While broadband mode is more universally compatible, a drawback is increased susceptibility to interference from external signals like lidar from mobile phones. For best results using the broadband mode, remove potential sources of other laser signals and maintain consistent ambient lighting.
Note for use with gas blowback replicas!
- Recoil may move the laser off the target while the target is still trying to detect the shot. If the target is not reliably detecting hits while you are using the LTS Laser Unit and a gas blowback replica with high recoil, switch the target to broadband mode for better performance.
