SSP1 Troubletshooting

We created this page to help customers with the most frequently occurring issues. Please take your time and read through the ones that sound similar to the issue you are having.

If your problem was not solved – please use the contact form below.

My SSP1 front sight has come off.
This can be re-secured using a 0.9 Allen Key.  Simply slide the front sight back
into its position and tighten the screw.
Bare in mind that it is a very small screw and it will in most cases still be in the
front sight.

If you unfortunately lost it then you can get a new one here:
https://novritsch.com/product/ssp1-front-sight/

You can also get a little upgrade which is our fiber optic:

My Gas Magazine is leaking! What should I do?
-fill/exhaust valve: Please unscrew it, give it a good clean, and apply fresh silicone oil (thick). Let the silicone oil sink in properly before reinserting it into the magazine.

-bottom plate: Please undo the bottom plate with the black screw which you can find next to the golden valve on the bottom. Clean the O-ring and apply fresh silicone oil (thick). Let the silicone oil sink in properly before reinserting it into the magazine. Please make sure, when you insert it again,
that you screw it in tight.

If the fix for the valves did not work you can get new ones here:

My Magazine keeps falling out the gun when shooting.
This only happens with Gas magazines.
To fix it please remove the magazine base (https://novritsch.com/product/ssp1-magazine-base/) and find the black bottom screw next to the golden valve.

Try to unscrew it a little bit. Don`t do it too much since your magazine will leak if this screw is too far out.

Use a 2.5mm allen key for that.
My Gas SSP1 is releasing too much Gas per shot, does not go through the whole magazine or does not reset the Hammer properly.
Please check the gas recommendation table on the product page.

You are probably using the wrong gas which is causing the issue. For clarification
“Medium Gas” is Green Gas and should not be used under 35°C/96°F

Also when filling the magazine hold the gas bottle over the magazine, so when doing it the feeding lips should point towards the ground.

The reason for that is that the gas is actually not a gas. It`s state of aggregation is actually liquid. Compare it with pouring water into a glass. The liquid can only move down.

When filling it count to three and stop filling. We know it can go longer but you do not want to overfill the magazines.
Which BBs should I use in the gun?
We would recommend 0.28 g BBs.

If you want to use lighter BBs this is of course possible.
Just keep in mind that heavier BBs are more accurate and have a much more stable flying path.
How do I remove the orange tip?
The red tip is secured with glue. We would recommend getting a spare outer Barrel.

Also please keep in mind that if you try to remove the orange tip and damage the gun, it will not be covered by warranty.
In case your issue is not covered in the points above
